In Czernowitz, there existed a synthesis of national conciousness
and much higher, one might say, [pan-]European views. Here, in a multinational
city, it has been proved that peoples could achieve greatness in the spirit
of common culture, that communities of different tongues and
denominations could be peacefully led towards a great common idea.
